Martin Luther King Center

Kinship Care:

MLKCC provides programs to assist care givers of related children (grandchild, cousin, niece, nephew etc.) who reside fulltime in their homes with the necessary support, community resources and education in order to provide safe, nurturing and long-term care for the child. MLKCC supports this network of families through monthly meetings, social events, educational sessions with community partners, and referrals to supports such as counseling and treatment. This network provides these families with an informal support system of their peers that is often missing in their traditional family systems.
