Youth Empowerment Stealth Learning
The Martin Luther King Community Center works unyieldingly to provide the youth and our community with Creative Activities that prevent and/or intervene delinquent activity in schools, homes and in the neighborhoods. We have incorporated Five Star Programs and Projects that are proven to decrease negative behavior and increase self-confidence, self-respect and respect for others, which lead to an overall better morale in the community.
We have an After-School Program that combines fun, individuality, creativity and learning. We emphasize fun activity-based learning that reinforces the knowledge and skills needed for in –school success. We also promote positive relationships among children and adults, create an engaging environment for children to interact with each other, and provide opportunities for children to make decisions and learn leadership skills. Our After-School program was designed to nurture the body, mind and spirit of every child who participates.

The Music Zone:
The Music Zone will meet more basic teen needs. For example: nothing to do after school, on weekends and during summer, leaves many teens bored and easily tempted by trouble. The Music Zone is open during these high-risk times.
Young people are engaged in music recording, web publishing, graphic design, TV production, and marketing activities. Studio sessions are a way to build strong, lasting relationships between responsible, caring adults and youths considered at-risk. The studio is a tactical offensive weapon that impact youth by creatively using the following three building blocks: Culture; Education; and Character Development.
- Music Industry Basics
- Advanced Artists
